Chi Ching “Jimmy” Chan was born on March 29, 1942 in China to Ying Chow Chin and Fung Sam (Moy) Chin. He died on Wednesday March 11, 2020 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Mr. Chan worked as a Chef and was involved in the restaurant business for almost forty years in both the Boston area and Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Chi Ching enjoyed day trips into Chinatown, he loved the ocean and a good laugh. His interests and hobbies included reading the Chinese newspaper, dining on a lobster dinner, spending time with his family and friends, and he enjoyed trying his luck at the local casinos. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed celebrating his Boston team’s championships from afar.
Chi Ching is survived by his spouse Mary (Yu) Chan, daughter Lisa Chan-Iannetta, son-in-law Michael Iannetta, grandchildren Nicholas and Maxwell Iannetta. His siblings include brother Thomas G.W. Chan and his wife Gin Gee Chan; his sister Wai Hing Lee "Annie", as well as her late husband Shu Keung Lee and lastly his youngest brother Sammy and his wife Margaret Chan. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews who called him “Uncle Jimmy”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sister Lina and late husband Godfrey Chin.
Memorial Visitation Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 10:00 am until the time of Memorial Service at 12:00 noon at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004
