Christine "Christi" Lynn Camel

Christine (Christi) Lynn Camel (neé Drollinger) passed away in Arlington Heights on October 24, 2025 at the age of 48 after living with synovial sarcoma for 19 years. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Thomas and Electa, maternal step-grandmother Marjorie, and her paternal grandparents Richard and Doris, as well as her Uncles William and James. She is survived by her husband Paul, daughter Taylore, her parents, Pamela and Lawrence, and her sister Lindsay, as well as a large extended family.

Christi was born in Chicago, Illinois and lived in Buffalo Grove through her childhood. She received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Illinois and taught chemistry at Niles North High School in Skokie, Illinois until her passing. She later received two masters degrees from Xavier University and Ball State University. She was passionate about teaching and was beloved by her fellow faculty members and her students alike. She inspired many of her family members and students to pursue careers in education and science.

Paul and Christi met when they were teenagers, and they were married on July 15, 2000. Taylore was born on August 13, 2006 and completed their family. They loved traveling, camping, trying new food and wine, and making new friends, as well as spending time with family.

Christi will be remembered for many things, including her love of the outdoors, her passion for reading and learning, as well as her love of all things horror and Stephen King. Her laugh was contagious, and she had a special knack for making everyone around her feel cared for. Her kind and loving spirit and her fierce loyalty has left a legacy for her family and friends to carry on, and they hope that others will try to live the same as she did: with fearlessness and joy.

Christi requested no services be held, and in lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that donations be made to the Synovial Sarcoma foundation in her name, so that future families may benefit from their work. More information can be found at https://synovialsarcoma.org/.
