Darlene Patricia Denten McCook died peacefully on July 6th, 2017, in hospice care at her daughter’s home in Chicago after a long, brave battle with cancer. A treasured mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Darlene had an extraordinarily kind, gentle, and compassionate heart that she shared openly with all around her. Her sincere and empathetic nature, intelligence, grace, patience, and loyalty had a profound impact on all who knew and loved her. Immense gratitude and love surrounded her when she passed. She will be deeply missed.

Darlene was born in Chicago to William and Elizabeth (nee Reimen) Denten on October 13, 1951. She is survived by her parents; children, Kelly (Niksa) Ivancevic, Meghan (Damon) McCook-Wilson, Kevin (Tori) McCook, Timothy McCook, and Taryn McCook; grandchildren, Stefan, Luka, and Mila Ivancevic, and Maeve and Viona Wilson; siblings, William (Debbie) Denten, Maureen (Frank) Postal, Cathleen (Bill) Botheroyd, John (Jane) Denten, James Denten, Patrick Denten, and Terence (Kathy) Denten; and several Nieces and Nephews. Darlene was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Denten.

Visitation Wednesday, July 12, 2017, from 9:30 am until Prayers, 10:30 am, at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois, proceeding to Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 S. Mitchell, Arlington Heights for Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Interment is at St. Michael The Archangel Cemetery in Palatine, Illinois.
