He was granted eternal life on Monday, January 23, 2017 in Buffalo Grove.David served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, he shared many stories of his time as a "Proud" cook during that time." David was a CPA for nearly 40 years and owned and operated "David L. McCabe, CPA, Inc." in Buffalo Grove. He was a devoted member of St. Mary Parish in Buffalo Grove for nearly 50 years. David loved to spend time with his family especially his children and grandchildren." "Poppy" was loved deeply by all.David is survived by his children, David J. McCabe, Mary (Mike) Ray, Elizabeth (Chet) Hartsock, and Joanna McCabe, grandchildren, Amanda Ray, Michael Ray, Melissa Ortiz," Caitlin McCabe, Nicole Hartsock," Tyler Hartsock, Nicholas McCabe, McKenzie McCabe, Brandon Hartsock, Jared Ray, and" Morgan McCabe; great-grandchildren," Nathan Ortiz and Brooklyn Ortiz; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by wife, Joyce Carr McCabe; his parents; siblings, Richard Bootsma, Lorraine Laing, James McCabe and Leo McCabe.Visitation Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Prayers 9:45 am, Friday, January 27, 2017 at the funeral home proceeding to St. Mary Parish, 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, IL" 60089 for a 10:30 am Funeral Mass.
