

David Marofske Sr., 77, 44 yr. resident of Mt. Prospect passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 2, 2014. His courageous 14 yr. battle with Pancreatic Cancer was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. Married to his high school sweetheart and Honey Bunny, Jeanette (Vesper) for 56 years. Cherished Father of Janice (Brian) Osowski, David Jr. (Cynthia), Cathleen Branca, Christine (Pat Lahey), Brad and Mark. Devoted Grandfather of Brian Jr. (Christen) and Kevin (Natalie) Osowski, Beth (Erik) Marshall, Matthew (Cinthya), Eric (Krista), Marisa and Tyler Marofske. Loving Great Grandfather of Caden and Clara Osowski and Henry Marshall. Brother of Charles (the late Loine) Marofske, brother-in-law to the late Tina (the late Ronald) Paglia, the late Paulette (Robert) Oplaski, Arlene (Dominick) Falcone and Paul (Vicki) Vesper. Proceeded in death by his parents Charles and Frances, in- laws, Paul and Harriet Vesper. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by his many friends that he considered extended family. He had worked for over 50 years in the Coin Operated Industry. He began at Midway Mfg. and worked his way up to President of Bally/Midway during the arcade boom of the 70’s-80’s. In 1985 he founded Grand Products, Inc. He was an avid Cubs Fan, loved to attend his grandchildren’s activities and was devoted to his family. A man of strong faith with a very generous spirit. He was a gentle giant; the calm in the storms of life. To know him was to know family. Family is at the heart of everything. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 6, 2014, from 3:00 pm until 9:00pm, at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Hwy., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Visitation will continue Friday, November 7, 2014, from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral mass, 10:00 am, at St. Cecilia Church, 700 S. Meier Rd., Mount Prospect, IL 60056.
