Donald Treutler, 66, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at his home in Arlington Heights. He is survived by his long-time partner, Jody Thurston, his brother Timothy (Deborah), and the loving family he created: his four children, Benjamin (Anna), Bradley (Andrea Whipple), Allison Maroney (Ryan), and Amanda, and his five beloved grandchildren, Olive and Penelope Treutler, Nora, Sloane, and Tanner Maroney. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Virginia (née Killian), his brother Thomas, his sister Pamela, and her husband Peter Matteson.Don graduated from John Hersey High School in 1972 and was already working for his father’s home remodeling business out of their Arlington Heights home, a profession he stayed with for the rest of his life where he was a true artist and master craftsman. More recently, he owned and operated a bar in Lyndon Station, WI when his kids weren’t asking for help with their homes.Don played a lot of roles in his life: soulmate, son, brother, craftsman, business owner, bartender -- but none brought him greater joy than his roles as Dad and Grandpa. His five grandchildren were blessed with a Grandpa who always wanted to play and teach them something new.Private service and interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Devil's Lake State Park Nature Center, South 5975 Park Road, Baraboo, WI 53913. Or, have a Miller High Life in his honor.
