

Dorothy Ann Hoff (nee Carr), aged 88, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, in her hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Born on January 19, 1937, Dorothy's life was a testament of devotion to her faith, family, and community.
Dorothy was married to the late John Hoff and was the devoted mother of the late Michael, the late Richard, Arvella, Desiree and Crystal. Dorothy's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Desiree, Crystal, Rosella, and Zachary. She was the dear sister of the late Mary (the late John) Reilly and the late Fred (the late Lenore) Carr. Beloved Aunt of Sean and Mary Beth Reilly (Kelly), Bryant and Steven Carr, and Great Aunt to Kaitlin, Patrick, Lizzy, Clare, Mary Kate, Bridget, and Ellie.
Dorothy's life was marked by her unwavering faith, kindness, and gentle spirit. She actively participated as a dedicated member of the Women's Club and Choir at St. Maria Goretti in Schiller Park. She volunteered with the Nuns of at Nazarethville. She was a prayerful voice for the voiceless in the Pro-Life community.
Dorothy’s life on earth was not an easy one though, if you asked her, she would disagree. She never complained, trusting completely in the Lord’s will. She lived simply and loved unconditionally – always putting the needs of others before her own. Dorothy’s Catholic faith was inspirational to all the lives she touched. Her life was one of love, compassion, service, and humility.
As we say goodbye to Dorothy Ann Hoff, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and grace. Dorothy's life was a beautiful reflection of the values she held dear, and her story will be recounted with fondness and admiration by all who were privileged to know her.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held Wednesday, August 13th, 2025, from 10:15 AM to 11:00 AM, at Ascension Living Nazarethville Place (300 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016). The Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
