Dorothy Murphy (nee Karasinski) was born March 20, 1922 to Felix “Phil” and Julia (neeTomaschevitz) in, Chicago, Illinois and she died September 6, 2017. She is survived by her sister, Grace (Richard) Small.

Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a passionate homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She has been a lifetime fan of the Chicago Cubs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Patrick Murphy.

She was the mother of Philip (Gail) Murphy, the late Michael (Mary Jo) Murphy, Lawrence (Gerri) Murphy, Mary Ellen (Timothy) Hughes, and Thomas (Susan) Murphy; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation Friday from 3:30 PM until 8:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Prayers 8:45 AM, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the funeral home, proceeding to Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM. Interment at Maryhill Cemetery.
