Dorothy was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and St. James Church where she volunteered and served as a sacristan. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking traditional Polish foods, and traveling.
Dorothy is survived by children Pat (Marc) Solomon of Fox River Grove, Cindy (Bob) Frenzer of Arlington Heights, IL, Becky Rusch of Spring Hill, TN, Nancy (Mike) Trafford of North Port, FL; grandchildren Victoria, Matthew, Janelle, Tiana, Christine, Jake, Marissa and Lindsey.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jerome ‘Jerry’ Rusch; son Jim Rusch; and three sisters Gerry Szpekowski, Lorraine Norten, Cookie (Elaine) Garswick.
Visitation for Dorothy will take place on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, Illinois, from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls (1140 W Jackson, Chicago, IL) or Knights of Columbus #4483 (15 N. Hickory, Arlington Heights, IL) in memory of Dorothy.
