Eleanor Savage

of Arlington Heights

Eleanor Savage (nee Jahn), age 86, of Arlington Heights passed away peacefully on December 9, 2020. Eleanor was born on March 10, 1934 in Barrington Township, Illinois the daughter of William and Minnie (Plote) Jahn.

Eleanor was the loving mother of Dale Savage, Douglas Savage, Deborah (Robert) Tomaso, Donn (Patricia) Savage, Dawn (Tom) Hedrick and Doreen (Ken) Watkinson; endearing grandmother of Katelyn (late James), Rebecca, Ryan, Joanne, Timothy, Parker and Brady; beloved great-grandmother of Mikayla, Hallie and Alayna; dear sister of Wayne (Nancy) Jahn; fond aunt of many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Savage; their infant son Edmund Savage; sisters Shirley Schroeder, Gladys Mootrey and Ruth Heimer.

Eleanor was a shining light and the centerpiece of her family. She was a compassionate and faithful believer in the Lord and devoted to her life-long church St. John United Church of Christ in Palatine. She loved helping others and was a member of the women's guild at St. John. She enjoyed puzzles, crosswords, playing Pinochle, going to bingo with friends and most of all loved being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by so many. Heaven gained a true angel.

She will be laid to rest on Thursday, December 17. Services will be private due to Covid-19 restrictions.
