

Eric George Slezak of Palatine, IL passed away peacefully on the morning of September 21st, 2023 surrounded by family after a long battle with brain cancer. He fought against this terrible disease for over fifteen years, overcoming many obstacles along the way.
Eric was born on April 15, 1957 in Berwyn, IL to Elaine and George Slezak. He attended Lyons Township High School, received an undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Illinois, and earned his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Eric was the beloved husband of Lynn Slezak, father to Scot (Alyson) Slezak and Elyse (Dan) Bartnicki and soon-to-be grandfather of Baby Slezak. He is survived by his wife, Lynn; son, Scot; daughter, Elyse; mother, Elaine; brother, Brian (Karen) Slezak; as well as many extended family members. He is also survived by many close friends from all over the world. He was preceded in death by his father, George Slezak. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and uncle.
Eric worked in the solder industry for over forty years, working at Kester Solder for twenty years and most recently with Indium Corporation of America as Director of Business Development. He was an innovator in his field, and many would say he had an unparalleled sense for business. As a result of his job, he was able to travel to many exciting and interesting places around the world. He has shared his love of travel with his wife and passed it onto his children.
Throughout his retirement and despite his illness, Eric made a point to walk as many beaches as he possibly could, his favorite being French Leave in Eleuthera, otherwise known as “Chain Beach” to family. We know he is now walking along a heavenly beach, enjoying the feel of sand beneath his feet and a fresh sea breeze. He will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be held on Sunday September 24th at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights from 1pm to 6pm. A funeral service will take place on Monday September 25th at Saint James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights at 1pm. Interment private.
