Jacqueline Diane Raino nee Logan danced into heaven late on February 20th 2015. Her spirit will live on forcefully through her husband, Nicholas Raino, her three daughters Julie, Kris, and Karen, her seven grandchildren Logan, Liza, Mira, Nick, Annelise, Maegan, and Mia, and through her countless friends. In her 81 years of life, she has imparted much wisdom, important for all: Never stay inside if the sun is out, keep your elbows off the table, make time for the important things, never wear hats at dinner (you men), always end the day with "I love you," never pick at your feet in public, seek out adventure (no matter how much it will cause her to pray) , serve yourself last, put others first, follow through on all your commitments, surround yourself with friends, believe in yourself, and most importantly, that life, with all its twists and turns, is utterly and completely beautiful. She was, and will remain to those who knew her, an unstoppable force of good and love and strength. After graduating from Northwestern School of Nursing in 1955, she served as a Registered Nurse for five years. While her formal nursing career lasted only five years, her career of taking care of those around her lasted a lifetime. She was a devoted daughter and caretaker to Otto and Gertrude Logan. She volunteered at the Uptown Ministry for 40 years and served on its Board of Directors for 8 years. She was a constant friend and advocate to preschool children, young mothers and her beloved Our Gang. She continued to visit those people important to her until the day she passed. She traveled to Guatemala in her seventies to administer vaccines, brought soup and comfort to friends and family, was there to answer any question about physical or emotional hurts, and never thought to put herself first. She was a second mother to so many of her friends" children. She never met a high school sporting event too small, or a piano concert too boring for a large hug and a big smile. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a former active member of the Arlington Heights Nursing Club, a foster parent, a legendary hostess at Legend Lake, elected Queen of Cardiac Rehab, and part of the glue that has kept The Blue Jackets and her other friend groups together. To Nick, she was everything. In their 60th year of marriage, they were more in love than ever. Jackie was the best wife, mother, grandma, and friend that the world has ever seen. She was full of love, she was full of life, and she was full of happiness. Her legacy of laughter, faith, and love will endure through her family and the many friends who loved her with all their hearts.Visitation from 3:00 to 9:00 pm, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N.
