

James Joseph Chorzempa, DDS, 76, was born on February 7, 1948 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Olga (nee Szymski) Chorzempa. He died Monday, March 25, 2024 at his home in Prospect Heights, Illinois.
A dedicated dentist for over 43 years, James graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1974 and soon established his practice in Buffalo Grove. He was a proud member of several dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Chicago Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. In 2000, he was honored with the title of Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry for his outstanding contributions to the field.
Outside of his professional life, James was known for his involvement in the community. He was a former Buffalo Grove Police Commissioner and a volunteer with the Prospect Heights Police Department. A motorcycle enthusiast, he rode with the Patriot Guard to provide honors and welcomes to returning vets and their families. He was also a private pilot, showcasing his adventurous spirit and love for flying.
James is survived by his wife of 38 years, Gail Chorzempa, Psy. D; his sons, Jarett (Partner Lisa) Chorzempa, Kevin (Fiancée Missy Vechiola) Chorzempa, Adam (Marjorie) Chorzempa, Bradley (Lauren) Chorzempa, Ryan Chorzempa, and Michael Chorzempa; his grandchildren, Caelyn, Maya, Brayden, Josephine, Quinn, Trent and, Mason Chorzempa, Peyton and, Morgan Vechiola; and his sister, Sharon (Kevin) Mullarkey.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nancy Mierkiewicz.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
