My Father was The Best Father any girl could ask, wish or be so lucky to have! He made sure I had everything I needed, and most everything I wanted! He Never disrespected me, always showed LOVE AND KINDNESS and taught me to do the same! He raised my first son, like it was his last son, and for that, I'm truly GRATEFUL AND BLESSED! My sympathies to the entire Mertins family. After knowing him for 46 years, Jim will always have a permanent place in my heart. I will remember him for his hospitality and how he and Jacquie always made me feel welcome in their home. Jim also had a generous spirit and was always willing to help in any way he could. Although he wasn't my fishing buddy, as he was to Dan, he was somewhat of a "remodeling" buddy for me on one or our house projects. Jim could tackle any home repair or renovation project with ease. He knew how to do just about anything. Not only did he lend me his tools, but at times would give of his time and expertise to help get a project done. He was a true friend and will be greatly missed.
