James J. Rocks

Of Arlington Heights

James J. Rocks was born on November 12, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois to James and Kathryn (nee Killen) Rocks. He died Monday, August 12, 2019, at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Rocks was a promotional items salesman and business owner of JRocks Enterprises. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

Jim was known as an avid golfer and club champion for several years at Buffalo Grove Golf Course. He coached little league baseball for many years with the BGRA. Loyal Cub fan and Bear fan. He'll be remembered for his tremendous sense of humor and as a true friend of many.

James is survived by his love of 33 years, Mary J. "Janie" Holbach; his children Debra (Leon Wirth) Rocks, Kathy (Chris Torres) Rocks-Torres, and Jim (Melanie Johnson-Rocks) Rocks; his step-children Susan (Gregg) Sweeney and John (Kim) Holbach; he was the proud grandfather of Lauren, Lyla and Lucas and the proud Step-grandfather of Kristin, Erin and Kyle; his siblings Ellen Jasica, Tom (Marilyn) Rocks; his sister in law, Sheryl Rocks; his many nieces and nephews and his many cousins.

He was preceded in death by Brother, John D. Rocks, Mother, Kathryn Rocks nee Killen, Father, James F. Rocks.

Visitation from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, August 16, 2019, at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Memorial Service 11:00 am, Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1111 N. Elmhurst Road, Prospect Heights, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to NCH Foundation, 3040 W. Salt Creek Lane, Arlington Heights, IL 60005, www.nch.org/about-nch/nch-foundation to honor the personal care he received from the Critical Care Department.
