Jean Pocklington was born February 16, 1940, in Chicago to John William and Gina (nee Faroani) Terdina She died Friday, May 13, 2022, at her home in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Prior to becoming a homemaker, Jean worked at Marshall Field and Dr. Scholl's where she would eventually meet her husband.
A Roman Catholic, Jean expected to be reunited with loved ones and awaiting those of us still struggling on Earth. Her devout beliefs guided her as a caretaker for her parents and numerous other relatives. A loving grandmother, she would always make time to play or attend their numerous events. She will be remembered for her cooking skills as she loved making elaborate meals for family gatherings and comfort food for many an impromptu get-together. Jean was described as a dynamo and she was always on the move to improve her surroundings through crafting wreaths and floral arrangements. Jean passionately participated in parish and religious life. Additionally, Jean enjoyed bowling and ice skating.
Jean is survived by her husband, William C Pocklington, whom she married on October 6, 1962, in St. Cornelius Catholic Church, Chicago; her son, William (Michel) Pocklington; and her grandsons, Andrew, Daniel, and Will.
She is preceded by her parents and her brothers John Jr. and Ronald Terdina.
Visitation from 9:00 am until time of Memorial Mass at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 2, 2022, at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 East Anderson Drive., Palatine, IL 60067.
