Jean R. Rich

Jean graduated from the University of Miami Ohio in 1955 where she studied teaching and met her beloved husband, Tom, who was her college sweetheart. Jean and Tom were married for nearly 70 years. He was with her during her last moments and held her hand, as he always did in life. Their love for one another was constant, unwavering, patient and kind.

Jean raised two sons, Tom and Tim, and taught English for many years in the suburban Chicago public school system where she touched many lives before retiring. She was a lifelong avid reader and loved a good book. Jean also enjoyed gardening and watching the Chicago Bulls. She was witty, stylish, fiercely intelligent and beautiful. She had a particular penchant for interior decorating and made any space feel warm and inviting. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas R. Rich, children Thomas C. Rich & Timothy (Judy) Rich; grandchildren Michelle (Aaron Chappell) Rich, Kristin (Scott) Talaga, Thomas C. (Jana) Rich, Jr., Caitlin Rich, Jordan (Dan West) Rich, six great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
