Joan S. RasmussenOf Arlington HeightsJoan Shirley Rasmussen was born on March 28,1932 in Chicago to Frank A. and Viola E.(nee Scheck) Beutler. She died unexpectedly Monday, November 2, 2015 in Arlington Heights.She was a retired pre-school teacher at St. Peter Lutheran School for over 20 years and devoted homemaker. Joan was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights. Joan was extremely active in her church throughout her life, participating in Women"s Guilds, PTA and Bible Study. She loved to deliver "Meals on Wheels" with her late husband James. Joan loved to spend time with her family, especially during the holidays and other family celebrations, and loved to be with and care for her friends in the community.Joan is survived by her children, Pamela (Richard) Hull of Roseburg, OR, Cathy (Richard) Johnson of Chicago and Gregg Rasmussen of Arlington Heights; granddaughter Kimberly Johnson; and sister-in-law Rose (the late Roy) Johanson. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, whom she married in 1951; and her parents. Visitation Friday, November 6, 2015 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd( 4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Funeral Service 10:00 am Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church or School, 111 W.
