John Doyle ConlonOf Arlington HeightsJohn Doyle Conlon was born August 15, 1928 in Dixon, Illinois to Charles and Loretta (nee Doyle) Conlon.He died on Monday, October 10, 2016 in Arlington Heights.John earned a basketball scholarship to St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin, where he built lifelong friendships and graduated in 1951. He later served in the Army during the Korean War. He dedicated himself to his career with EKCO Housewares for 38 years, rising to National Sales Manager before he retired in 1992. John"s passions were spending time with his family, playing golf and following his favorite sports teams. Go Cubs!John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Donna Fay Marie (nee Mommaerts) Conlon whom he married on November 21, 1953; his children, Kathy Ciecko, Chic (Shelly) Conlon, Terri (Bob) Bruce, and Bob (Denise) Conlon; his grandchildren, Jeff (Miriah), Ashley and Kelly Ciecko, Jessica Conlon, Rachel, Jenny, Erica and Alex Bruce, Katy and Kyle Conlon; and his siblings, Gwen Conlon, Lucy (Gene) Jean, and Jim (Carol) Conlon.He is preceded in death by his sister, Mary (Louis) Hemmerick; and by his parents.Visitation from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Friday, October 14, 2016 at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights and from 9:30 AM, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 411 N. Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights until Funeral Mass 10:30 am.
