John Kubiak was born March 31, 1970 in Arlington Heights. He passed away on December 26, 2022.
John graduated from John Hersey High School in 1989. He was on the basketball and football team at Hersey. He attended Gallaudet University for one year.
John was a hard worker. He worked for the United States Postal Service in Buffalo Grove for 23 years as a Letter Carrier. He was very proud of his job. If anyone asked him what he did for a living, he would say, “I work for the Post Office as a Letter Carrier and I bleed blue.”
John was an avid Chicago Bears fan. He would go to the sports bars and watch the game with his friends and sons. He was also a Chicago White Sox fan much to the chagrin of his wife.
John loved to work with his hands. He loved gardening, working on cars, and remodeling our home. He had amazing skills including a green thumb and was able to grow many types of vegetables and his favorite flower, peony. John was able to take apart his entire 1969 Buick Skylark and put it back together himself. He loved to go fishing and taught his sons how to catch fish.
John married the love of his life, Angie, on October 8, 1995. They had 27 amazing years of married life together. John was also very supportive husband and father. He was proud of all of his sons and his family is proud of the life he lived. He truly loved his family and would do anything for them.
John loved celebrations. Christmas was his favorite holiday. He would decorate the house and go all out. He would go on the rooftop and put up 8 reindeer (including Rudolph the red nosed Reindeer) and Santa in a sleigh. The kids absolutely loved it.
John had a heart of gold. He was also an amazing friend to so many. John would also go to their homes and help them with their house projects.
John loved to make all of us laugh, and we loved to see him laugh. We will miss his smiles, laughter and teddy bear hugs.
He will be sorely missed by family, friends, co-workers and the Deaf community.
John is survived by his wife Angie (nee Sandaris) Kubiak; his sons, Joseph, James and Alexander.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Helena (nee Bumann) Kubiak.
