Joseph William Bunzol

Joseph William Bunzol, 80, formerly of the Sauganash neighborhood in Chicago, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Born December 26, 1944, in Chicago to Joseph L. Bunzol and Mary Catherine (née Rice) Bunzol, Joe built a life grounded in dedication, humility, and craftsmanship. A skilled electrician, he took great pride in his work and in the many lives he brightened through his quiet generosity and steady presence.

Joe is survived by his loving partner of 11 years, Pat Egel, who brought joy and companionship to his later years. He was a devoted father to Jennifer (Frank) Sciacca and James J. Bunzol; and a supportive presence to Pat’s children, Elizabeth (Russ) Wiseman and Rachel (Mitch) Rosenbloom. He cherished his role as a grandfather and will be dearly missed by Emma and Savannah Sciacca, and Lauren and Hailey Rosenbloom.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Judith Rose Marrano, and by his parents.

Honoring Joe’s wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncrest Hospice, 5 Revere Drive, Suite 130, Northbrook, IL 60062, whose compassion and care brought comfort in his final days.

Joe will be remembered for his warm heart, his quiet strength, and the love he shared so freely with those fortunate enough to know him.
