

Josephine Stellato, age 96, at rest on August 9, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Anthony Stellato; loving Mother of Linda (Daniel) Martin and David (Lynn) Stellato; cherished grandmother of Cory Martin, Kyle (Hannah) Martin, Nicholas Martin, Jaclyn (Brian) Schon, Amy (Brian) Eschenbrenner; loving sister of Marie Pellicore; and beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister, Concetta Veach.
Josephine was born in the rural town of Rende, Italy to Salvatore and Maria Pellicore. She grew up in a farming community and dreamed of immigrating to the United States, which she did in 1947. She was proud to be an American citizen. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Anthony. She was a loving mother to her children, instilling in them the importance of education and love of family.
In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, Josephine was a devoted grandmother to her five grandchildren, and a nurturing sister and aunt. Josephine was an amazing cook, sharing her delicious Italian dishes with family, friends, and neighbors. She enjoyed musicals, sewing, reading about history, and attending Chicago Blackhawks games with her husband. Josephine was an amazingly driven person, a pillar of strength for her family, and a role model to anyone who met her.

Family will be receiving guests on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 9:00 AM until time of service at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Parish, 831 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Committal prayers will follow immediately after in the Main Mausoleum Chapel at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, 700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016 with entombment to follow.
