Judith Martin was born on July 15, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Theodore and Marian (nee Norum) Ringenbach. She died Sunday, September 8, 2019 at her home.
Mrs. Martin worked as a waitress at Eddies Lounge for 7 years as well as hostess at Arlington Trackside for 8 years. She was a member of St. James Women’s club and N.A.M.I., Judith was a longtime parishioner at St. James Catholic Church involved with helping PADS, serving funeral luncheons, and running a ministry at the Arlington Park Backstretch. Her interests and hobbies included raising her children and sharing time with family and friends. Judy loved spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking for others and made the very best fudge. She loved finding treasures at garage sales and spent many hours with Grandson Bradley on the trail. She always knew Granddaughter Amy was a phone call away to help with technical issues. Judy was also awarded as an eBay power seller in 2018.
Judith is survived by her children Deborah L. Grant, Richard B. Carpenter Jr. and Jeffrey S. Carpenter (Sheila Quinn); her grandchildren Megan (Daniel) Timmons, Michael (Samantha) Grant, Erin (Andy) Luring, Zachary Carpenter, Tyler Grant, Kloe Carpenter, Jacob Grant, Kacey Carpenter, Bradley Carpenter and Amy Carpenter; her great-grandchildren Mary Claire Timmons, Anthony Timmons, Paul Timmons, Gabriel Timmons, Joseph Timmons, Kooper Carpenter, and Gavin Grant; her siblings Sharon (Joseph) Lenihan, James (Emily) Ringenbrach and Theodore (Pam) Ringenbrach; she was also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John “Jack” P. Martin, her parents as well as Richard B. Carpenter.
Chapel Committal Service on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 1:00pm at All Saints Cemetery, 700 North River Rd., Des Plaines, IL 60016.
