Karl Alfred Kubon

Of Barrington

Karl Alfred Kubon was born on June 24, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to Alfred and Freida (nee Ellrich) Kubon . He died Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in Barrington.

Early in his life, Karl was a member of 4H and wrestled at Foreman High School in Chicago. At Northern Illinois University, he was President of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He coached and was a board member with the Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association. Karl was the founder and owner of ChemMaster Inc. since 1980. He enjoyed golf, history books and old Mel Brooks movies. He lived life to the very end writing a children's book from his bed. Karl and Judy were avid travelers with 53 wonderful years of memories. Above all, he loved laughing and spending time with family and friends.

Karl is survived by his wife, Judith (nee Wheeler) Kubon; his son, Kurt W. Kubon; his grandchildren, Lukas and Matthew Kubon; and his brother, Walter (Beverly) Kubon. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert K. Kubon; and by his parents.

Visitation Friday, July 28, 2017 from 3:00 pm until funeral service, 7:00 pm, at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights. Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Robert Kubon Foundation, P.O. Box 0211, Barrington, IL 60011-0211.
