My heart goes out to Kathie's entire family. I met her through the park district over 2 decades ago and she was someone that I looked up to as a mentor, colleague, and friend.  I remember when she was retiring and how happy I was that she could spend time doing other things she enjoyed. She will be greatly missed! Peace. Stephanie FitzSimons

My sincerest condolences to Kathie's family! She was my supervisor at the Park Ridge Park District, and she and I enjoyed many wonderful conversations and lunches together. Kathie was such a kind and supportive person, not only as a supervisor, but also as a friend. I wish her daughters, sons-in-laws and grandchildren peace during this difficult time. We were saddened to learn of Kathie's passing. She was a wonderful person who contributed her many talents to the Arlington Heights community. We first came to know Kathie in her role as a Village Board member. She had the ability to see the big picture on issues that came before the Board. How do you put into words how you really feel after losing a loved one…Kathy was the most positive and ‘up-beat” person ever..Her beautiful smile and infectious laugh just added to her effervescent personality..Just being with her made you feel worthy and her willingness to listen and lend a helping hand whenever and am wherever she was needed.  We are so grateful to have spent an entire day with Kathy a few weeks ago and very recently, Kathy and her daughters Stacy and Lesley  were here creating beautiful goose egg Christmas ornaments. What sad news to hear about Kathie. The world has lost a truly wonderful person way too soon.   Kathie wore so many hats so well and touched us with her warmth, enthusiasm, competence, service to the community and her character.  Her energy was contagious. Stacy, Lesley and Families,  Such a sadness in our hearts to learn of the passing of your mom.  She and your dad were such dear friends, even though we'd have to schedule months in advance to even get to go to dinner together!  They were both active and busy, loving and kind.  We miss them both.    Fred and I are so very glad that in the fall of Covid, we got together with them for an outdoor and socially distant picnic on a lovely crisp day.  We have pictures that show the happiness in their eyes, despite the health issues that they each had at that time.  We extend our sympathies to all of you and hope that you, like us, will treasure all the memories that have built themselves into an edifice over the years. Dear Stacy and Lesley, The last time I saw you was at Olive and you were my music students!  Now you are both married with children.  I am so sorry to hear the news of your mother’s passing. I'm so sad to hear that our village has lost a great public servant in my dear friend and former colleague on the Village Board. From our first campaign in 1991, through our chats with her and Carl at Walker Brothers, Kathie was always a kind, caring, and compassionate woman dedicated to doing the right thing in service to her family, friends, and community. I am so beyond sad to hear of this news. I send you all my deepest condolences 💐. My thought are with all of you. It was a true honor to know Kathie and call her my friend.

Smart, kind, loving, creative, generous, joyful and the list goes on. She was so intent on living life to the fullest and her positive demeanor influenced many. It is a mammoth loss of a cherished friend.  She left us too soon. May her memory be eternal.

You could alway find Mrs Hahn on a diamond -field - or bleacher.  We tagged her into the “SUPER fans group who didn’t miss a beat and not only remembered highlights from her own grandkids Sports but those of friends as well.   She probably saw more volleyball than I did of my own daughter and was able to recollect a specific serve or play.   A kind warm smiling face at ALL times I can only take comfort in knowing she’s with her sweet Carl now.     We will miss you Mrs Hahn   You’ve touched so many in the community.    God Bless and share some of your shine on my boi.
