Laurence John Daniels

Laurence John Daniels, 68, was born June 6, 1954, in Chicago, IL to John and Nancy (nee Johnson) Daniels. He died Friday, December 9, 2022, at his home.

Laurence graduated from Maine West High in 1972, and from Northern Illinois University in 1976 with a B.S. degree in finance and accounting. In college, Laurence was an active member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Larry worked as a comptroller for numerous local small and medium-sized businesses over the course of his career. He also owned his own CPA company servicing hundreds of individuals and dozens of small businesses each year. Laurence was a member of the Illinois CPA Society.

During his life, Larry enjoyed vacationing with his family, watching and playing golf, rooting on his favorite Chicago sports teams, caring for his dogs, visiting national parks and historic battlefields and coaching his sons' soccer and basketball teams.

He is survived by his sons Blake and Bradley (Janet) Daniels; his grandchildren William, Madeline, and Seamus Daniels; and his sisters Diane Daniels-Hauldren and Linda Simon and Diane's daughter, Julie.

Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Janet (nee Ensign) Daniels; his parents and his mother-in-law, Eileen Ensign.

Memorial visitation Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 12:30 pm until the time of the memorial service at 2:30 pm at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Congressional Church of Des Plaines (fccdp.org).
