

Lawrence J. Airdo was born on September 20, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Lorenzo and Philomena (nee Suriano) Airdo. He died Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park, Illinois.Mr. Airdo was a Local #502 cement mason for over 50 years before retiring. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who would do anything for them. Lawrence was an avid gardener and craftsman who enjoyed making bird houses, boats and statues. He made all of his daughters, granddaughters and great granddaughters doll houses complete with drapes and furniture.Lawrence is survived by his children Laura (Jerry Mitchell) Krezel-Mitchell, Angelina Airdo, and Lawrence W. Airdo; his grandchildren Joshua, Sarah, Noelle, Jeremiah, Larry, Mary; his sister, Philomena (Late Chuck) Picardi; great grandfather of 10; survived by many nieces and nephews; beloved by many.He was preceded in death by his wife Mary; his parents; his sisters, Elizabeth (Sam) Amirante, Angelina (Leonard) Gargano and his brothers James (Helen) Airdo, Jerry (Billie) Airdo, and Joseph (Lucille) Airdo.Visitation from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Friday, August 15, 2014 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N.
