Louis Makowski, 84, of Arlington Heights, IL, passed away on December 25, 2025. He was born in Chicago on July 22, 1941. He retired after more than 40 years of service to the Southern Pacific Railroad and TTX. He was a loving husband and father, an avid hunter, and a life-long Bears fan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ludwik and Antoinette. He is survived by his wife, Winifred (nee Szpara) Makowski; son, Andrew Makowski; and his sister, Virginia Siedleck.
Family will be receiving guests on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. An additional visitation will take place Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, at 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian burial begins at 10:00 AM. Committal prayers will take place in the chapel at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery, 6800 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714, immediately following the Mass.
