Louis C. Matthopoulos

Louis C. Matthopoulos, 63, was born April 12, 1959, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to Konstantine and Barbara (nee Leotsakos) Matthopoulos. He passed away suddenly on June 26th, 2022.

Louis, a retired police officer, honorably served the Village of Northbrook for 27 years. Throughout his career, he served as a Patrolman, Community Service Officer, and Detective. Louis specialized in many high-profile cases and was appointed as a supervisor for the Northern Regional Task Force Investigations Bureau (NORTAF). Louis remained busy in retirement by spending time working out, engaging in remodeling projects, and being a Papou to his ever-growing family.

Louis is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 38 years, Nancy (nee Gauer); his sons Dean (Hannah), Nicholas, and Paul (Randi); his grandchildren Mia, Elias, and Camden; his sister Cheryl (Bob) Nelson; and his faithful companion Rocky.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am, Friday, July 1, 2022, at Ridgewood Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 N. Milwaukee Ave., Des Plaines, Illinois. Burial immediately following the service.
