

Before retiring Mrs. DePriest worked as a substitute teacher for District 214 and was a regular replacement at Buffalo Grove, John Hersey, and Wheeling High Schools. In addition to her commitment to education, she also worked as a former resource manager at Allstate Insurance.
Lim was a published co-author, having penned the insightful book "Growing up Ebony & Ivory: A Conversation Between Two Women" with her friend Joyce Elizabeth Norman. She was also a world traveler, exploring at least 38 countries and enriching her life with diverse experiences.
Lim is survived by Robert DePriest whom she married July 29, 1995; her son Ronald (Natalie) Robinson; her grandson/children Nicholas DeRonya Robinson; and her siblings, Alex Smith, Augustine Williams, Annie Harris, Vernest, and Ernest Clark.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Lim's life will be held on February 24, 2024, at Noon. Her family will receive guests from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service Interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights, IL.
