Luis Gonzalez was born on December 30, 1937 in Cuba to Candido and Dominga (nee Rodriguez) Gonzalez. He died on January 16, 2023 at Northwest Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Luis worked as a carpenter who made cabinets for Perfection Tops.

His interests and hobbies included inventing tools, creating furniture and toys, learning and documenting history.

Luis is survived by his wife Zoila Gonzalez; his daughters Dulce (Glen) Bernard Jr., Maria (Mark Pasterski) Gonzalez and Zoila R. Gonzalez; his grandchildren Ashley Dellacecca, Glen (Brittany) Bernard III and Sabrina Gonzalez Pasterski; his great-grandson Glen Bernard IV as well as his sister Maria Elena Cervera; he is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Miguel Gonzalez, Ramon Gonzalez and his sister Elvira (Raul) Angulo.

Visitation Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm at Glueckert Funeral Home 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004 and on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 9:30am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30am at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church 411 North Wheeling Road, Prospect Heights, IL 60070. Entombment will follow at Ridgewood Memorial Park in Des Plaines.
