Cookie Olson was born on April 5, 1951 in Chicago to Emilio and Inez (nee Pieroni) Molinari, and was raised with the assistance of her grandmother, Edith Pieroni. She died Saturday, April 10, 2021, peacefully and in the presence of her children in Arlington Heights.
She worked as a Radiation Therapist for over 40 years and her last employment was at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. She was a member of St. Edna’s Catholic Church in Arlington Heights. She developed deep friendships throughout her life, many dating back to grammar school at St. Beatrice. She was always the life of the party and the first to dance, especially after two Cosmos. She loved to travel, spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and was loved by all.
Cookie is survived by her children, Drew (Brandy) Olson, Lauren (Anthony) Lombardo and Elyse (Tony) Aufmann; grandchildren RJ Olson, Jake Olson, Rylee Aufmann, Xander Aufmann, Joey Lombardo and Gianna Lombardo; sister, Elaine (Kevin) Burke; nieces and nephews, Meghan (Chad Meyer) Burke, Jessica (Chris Riley) Burke, Shane Burke, favorite dance partner-Ryan Burke, Amy Burke, Adam Olson, Eric Olson, and father to Cookie’s children, Bob Olson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd. (capacity limits, PPE requirement, and social distancing in effect), 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Visitation Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 9:00 am until the 10:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Edna Catholic Church, (also with capacity limits and PPE, and social distancing), 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment is private.
