Magdalena “Maggie” Klimach, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the age of 79. Maggie was born on October 5, 1940 in Appin, Yugoslavia to Anton and Magdalena Fernbach.

Maggie enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Baked goods were never in short supply when family visited (only Mike or Steve’s favorites). She also enjoyed playing scrabble and cards especially when she won. Maggie made many good friends while exercising at the Wellness Center.

Maggie had worked as a caregiver at Friendship Village of Schaumburg.

Magdalena is survived by her partner Al Knuth; her sister Eva (Simon) Vollmer; her two daughters Heide (Steve) Hamit, of Massillon, OH and Sylvia (Michael) Labitzke of Evansville, IN; her step-son Karl-Heinz (Rosemarie) Klimach of McDaniels, KY; her grandchildren Alex (Gavin) Rundell, Nathan Hamit, Emily Labitzke, Sarah Labitzke, Daniel (Lyubasha) Klimach and Julie (Jeffrey) McCullough.

She was preceded in death by her spouse of 27 years Heinz Klimach as well as her parents.

Visitation Monday, October 12, 2020 from 11:00 am until the time of Funeral Service at 1:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., (capacity limits, PPE requirements and social distancing in effect)1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Arlington Nurses Club, 1801 W Central Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60005.
