

Manford grew up in LaCrosse, WI and often talked about playing in the Black River and the city dump. He served in the Marine Corp as a drill instructor. After the service he moved to the Chicagoland area and studied to be a plastic mold designer, and owned his own business until retirement. Manford loved traveling, Disney World, woodworking, and spending time on his porch. He was fond of helping all of his neighbors with different projects. Manford believed that to have a good life you should appreciate what you have and help others.
Manford is survived by his partner, Sue Nemitz; daughters, Deborah D'Onofrio and Kathryn Knutson; Grandchildren, Elena D'Onofrio and Erik D'Onofrio; and his great-grandson, Theodore Heard.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Knutson; and his parents.
