Margaret (Margie) Jean Koperny passed away at home on April 20, 2024 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She was born on January 18, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to her loving parents, Eugene and Margaret Wieczor.
In the wake of her passing, she leaves behind her husband of 57 years, John Koperny, whose world feels dimmer without her by his side. To him, she was not just his wife but his best friend, whose presence illuminated every corner of his life. Her daughters, Donna (Scott) Harwood and Cheryl (Christopher) Reczek, carry with them the invaluable lessons she imparted---resilience, empathy, and faith. Through her, they learned not just about the world, but about themselves, gaining a fierce independence that echoes her spirit.
Marge welcomed her sons-in-law into the family with open arms. To her, they were trusted confidants whom she wholeheartedly welcomed into her heart and home. Marge's love for them knew no bounds, as she treasured the unique bond they shared and the love they brought into her life.
Her adoring grandchildren, Ava and Sophia Harwood, and Genevieve, Elise, and Grace Reczek, affectionately referred to her as Glama, a title that speaks volumes of the special bond they shared. To them, she wasn't just a grandmother; she was a confidante, a constant presence in their lives, with whom they shared endless texts and cherished moments. Her legacy lives on not only in their memories but in the ways they continue to grow and love, guided by her enduring spirit.
Marge's cherished family extended beyond her immediate household. She held a special place in her heart for her Aunt Joan Mishler and her beloved cousins, Diane Galyon, Dennis (Sophie) Dougherty, and Shawn Dougherty. Their bond ran deep, woven with threads of shared laughter, countless stories, and unwavering support. Their children-Brooke, Jack, Sydney (John), Corey, and Rayana-filled her heart with warmth and joy. Together, they formed a tight-knit circle, celebrating life's most important moments with a shared love that knew no bounds.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents.
