

Margaret “Marge” A. McTigue, age 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Eugene McTigue and her parents, the late William and Sarah Laird. She was the loving mother of Kathleen McTigue, Mary (Tim) Zieker, Margaret E. McTigue, Kevin (Cecilia) McTigue, and Eileen (David) Glynn; proud grandmother of Timothy (Laura) Skuran, Kelly (Stephen) Matthews, Kevin (Natalie) Skuran, Bridget Skuran, Michael Skuran, Daniel (Amber) Zieker, Sarah (Karl) I’Anson, Nicholas Macius, Caroline Macius, Natalie Macius, Emily McTigue, Eileen McTigue, Brian McTigue, Madeline McTigue, Margaret Glynn, Jack Glynn, Maeve Glynn, the late Patrick Glynn and the late Brendan Zieker; treasured great-grandmother of ten. Marge is survived by five younger siblings, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Born and raised in Chicago, Marge attended St Mary’s High School and Mundelein College and went on to teach grammar school. She met Gene, the love of her life at a parish dance at Resurrection Church, and the two married in 1958.
Marge devoted herself to raising a family, while being involved in parish life at both Saint Raymond’s and Our Lady of the Wayside and taking care of her aging parents. She also enjoyed part-time work in retail. In later years, Marge and Gene began wintering in Fort Myers Beach, FL where they were fortunate to establish a great network of close friends. At home in Chicago, she was well occupied attending and cheering on her grandchildren in their activities and welcoming great grandchildren.
Visitation for Marge is Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at St Raymond de Peñafort Catholic Church, Elmhurst Rd. (Rt. 83) & Lincoln St., Mt Prospect, IL 60056. The Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM. Private interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marge’s name to Catholic Charities of Chicago.
