Margarita Rodriguez

Margarita Rodriguez nee Crespo was born on January 28, 1941 in San Lorenzo-Barrio Espino, Puerto Rico to Martin and Petrona (Tonita) Crespo. She was a beloved sister to Martina (Evaristo) Claudio, Aida Iris (Celso) Velez, Carmen Rodriguez, Martin Crespo Jr., Antonio Crespo, Carmelo Crespo, Mary (Pedro) Santos, Nilda Crespo, Amparo (Jorge) Garcia.She was a loving mother to Margarita (Margie) Rodriguez, Jose M Rodriguez who preceded her in death, Hector Rodriguez, and Jeffrey (Jaime) Rodriguez. She loved her daughters-in-law Jennifer and Jaime Rodriguez. She was a loving abuela to Ariana Salcido, Olivia Rodriguez, Claudio L, Leona M, and Julian C Rodriguez.

Margarita was a beloved aunt and bonus mom to her nephews and nieces.

Margarita came to Chicago in 1952 and worked hard every day of her life to first provide for her parents and siblings and then her children and grandchildren. She had a generous and loyal spirit. She worked as a waitress for over 20 years for Fabers Enterprises and then for over 15 years at Lord, Bissell and Brooks providing hospitality.

Margarita attended daily mass and Adoration at St. James Catholic Church in Arlington Heights where she will be missed by many of her church family. She was a long-time resident of Arlington Heights who loved her neighbors.

Margarita was known for her love of gardening, baking, and crocheting. Even while battling ovarian cancer, she did not give up her hobbies. She was a humble woman who enjoyed serving others.

Funeral Mass 10:00 am Friday, March 24, 2023 at St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Visitation from 9:00 am until time of Mass.
