Maria Pataky

Maria was born in Durnbach, Austria on October 22, 1932, to parents Josef and Maria (nee Puller) Magyar. She moved to the United States in 1957 and met Joseph Pataky at St. Stephen of Hungary Church. The couple were married on May 31, 1958, and settled in Chicago to raise their family. She was a dedicated mother and took pride in raising her children. She enjoyed baking, cooking traditional European dishes, and gardening. Maria was a strong-willed and determined woman who enjoyed having fun. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Maria is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, her children, Dorothy Pataky, Tom (Theresa) Pataky, her grandchildren, Joshua Pataky, and Jessica Pataky, and her sisters-in-law, Mary (the late Ernie) Magyar, and Jan (the late Josef) Magyar, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Ernie Magyar, and Josef Magyar.

Visitation will be Friday, August 30, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.

Mass will be Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 10 a.m. with a visitation the hour prior, all at St. Edna Church, 2525 N Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.

Burial to follow Mass at All Saints Catholic Cemetery in Des Plaines.
