Marilyn C Smith

An outgoing and compassionate figure who was also a fierce competitor, Marilyn leaves a lasting mark on all those who interacted with her or were unfortunate enough to compete against her at the Arlington Senior Center. Marilyn’s nature led her to be a devoted mother, coworker, friend, and companion. This was ever present in her soft spot for all animals but especially her adored cats; Maggie, Inkie, and Flower. It also extended to her long-time employment with Kohl’s, when they had their original Mainstreet location, to sharing everlasting memories with those she loved most at the theater or shopping. Later in life, Marilyn took to enjoying her free time at the Arlington Senior Center where she showed no mercy during the Senior vs. Senior games against Hersey High School students or her fellow seniors at Wii Bowling (where she would be crowned champion). Above all, she was a supporter and loving mother to her children, Phil and Kathleen. They were her greatest joy, and no victory was sweeter than watching them grow into who they are today.

Born on July 1, 1940, in Brookline, Massachusetts to the late Henry W. Colburn and the late Ruth M. Colburn, Marilyn was the loving mother of Philip William Smith and Kathleen AnnMarie Smith Roberts and dear friend of many. She will be deeply missed.
