Marilyn J. Sweeney was born on January 13, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Francis and Patricia (nee Keenan) Fortin. She died Friday, August 18, 2017 at Northwest Community Hospital - JourneyCare Hospice, Arlington Heights.

Mrs. Sweeney was a devoted mother of six children and worked as an Administrative Legal Assistant for many years.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Bill (Mary) Sweeney, Joanne (Brian) Rohrer, Kathleen (Chris) Marquis, Tom (Cecilia) Sweeney, Jim (Dolores "DeeDee") Sweeney; and Peggy (Andy) Erickson; eighteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Jack (Karen) Fortin; sister-in-law, Sue Kirsch; cousin, Joan Ciccone; cousin-in-law, Jack Bradley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; sister, Patricia Fortin; brother, Ray Fortin; cousin, Maureen Bradley; cousin-in-law Dick Ciccone and her parents.

Visitation from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, Illinois.
