Martina Garcia Barrientos

Martina was a devoted daughter of God, a woman of faith in Jesus Christ, whose life reflected love, service, and compassion for others. She found joy in giving and serving, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her bright spirit, joyful heart, and contagious laughter had a way of lighting up every room she entered.

Martina had a deep love for her church and the community she found there. Her pastors, Silvino and Andrea Garcia, had a profound impact on her life, always encouraging her, strengthening her faith, and walking alongside her in her journey. She cherished the time she spent with her brothers in Christ, creating meaningful memories filled with laughter, fellowship, and joy. Those moments were special to her, as she truly valued the relationships she built within her church family.

From a young age, Martina was known for her strong work ethic and determination. Although she experienced a difficult upbringing, she never allowed those challenges to define her. Instead, she chose to remain positive, to love others deeply, and to pursue something greater for her life and her family. She worked hard throughout her life, always striving to provide, grow, and create a better future for those she loved. Above all, her greatest joy was her family.

As a mother, Martina showed incredible strength and resilience. She overcame the challenges of raising three boys as a single mother, walking through difficult seasons with faith and determination. Through it all, God remained by her side, guiding and sustaining her. She poured her love, wisdom, and values into her sons, raising them into adulthood and shaping the men they became. Over the years, the bond between mother and sons grew strong and unbreakable. She taught them countless lessons—not only through her words, but through her example of perseverance, faith, and unconditional love.

One of the greatest joys of her life came when she was blessed with her granddaughter Kimberly. From the very beginning, Martina treasured every moment with her, always making time to be present, to love her, and to watch her grow. Kimberly brought her immense happiness and a special kind of joy that filled her heart.

Martina also held a deep love for her daughter-in-law, whom she embraced as her own daughter. In a family filled with men, she found in her a special connection—someone she could relate to, confide in, and share a unique bond with. Their relationship was meaningful and genuine, built on love, respect, and understanding.

Two and a half years ago, Martina married her husband, Alberto Mancera, and together they shared a beautiful and deeply meaningful marriage. In him, she found a great man who loved her wholeheartedly, treated her with the honor and care she deserved, and stood faithfully by her side through every season. Their relationship was filled with laughter, genuine friendship, and unwavering support, always encouraging one another to grow, stay strong, and keep their faith at the center of their lives. He never left her side, and together they built a bond rooted in love, respect, and commitment. The life they shared brought her peace, joy, and a renewed sense of happiness that was evident to all who knew them.

She encouraged everyone around her to seek a relationship with God, boldly sharing her faith and love for Christ. She faithfully declared Joshua 24:15 over her family—“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”—a promise she lived out daily through her words, her actions, and her example.

Martina’s strength, selflessness, and unwavering love left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her faith, her generosity, her resilience, and the way she made others feel safe, valued, and deeply loved.

Martina is survived by her husband, Alberto Mancera; her sons, Alejandro Ramirez Jr., Henry Ramirez, and Eloy Ramirez; her daughter, Paulina Ramirez; her granddaughter Kimberly Caracheo; and many other family members and loved ones.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7

Her love lives on in the lives she shaped, the family she raised, and the hearts she touched.

Family will be receiving guests on Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.

All are invited to join for Funeral Prayers beginning at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 1, 2026 also at Glueckert Funeral Home. Interment to immediately follow at Wauconda Cemetery, Barrington Road, approximately 1 block south of the intersection of Route 176 (Liberty Street).

We kindly ask that guests refrain from wearing black and instead wear pastel colors for both services as a way to honor Martina’s joy and liveliness.

Martina fue una hija devota de Dios, una mujer de fe en Jesucristo, cuya vida reflejaba amor, servicio y compasión por los demás. Encontraba alegría en dar y servir, siempre poniendo las necesidades de los demás antes que las suyas. Su espíritu brillante, su corazón lleno de gozo y su risa contagiosa tenían la capacidad de iluminar cada lugar al que llegaba.

Martina tenía un profundo amor por su iglesia y la comunidad que encontró en ella. Sus pastores, Silvino y Andrea Garcia, tuvieron un gran impacto en su vida, siempre animándola, fortaleciendo su fe y caminando a su lado en su proceso. Atesoraba el tiempo que compartía con sus hermanos en Cristo, creando recuerdos significativos llenos de risas, compañerismo y alegría. Como madre, Martina demostró una fortaleza y resiliencia increíbles. Superó los desafíos de criar a tres hijos como madre soltera, atravesando temporadas difíciles con fe y determinación. A lo largo de todo ese camino, Dios permaneció a su lado, guiándola y sosteniéndola. Derramó su amor, sabiduría y valores en sus hijos, criándolos hasta la adultez y formando a los hombres en los que se convirtieron. Con el paso de los años, el vínculo entre madre e hijos se volvió fuerte e inquebrantable. Les enseñó innumerables lecciones, no solo con sus palabras, sino con su ejemplo de perseverancia, fe y amor incondicional.

Uno de los mayores gozos de su vida llegó cuando fue bendecida con su nieta, Kimberly. Desde el principio, Martina atesoró cada momento con ella, siempre haciendo tiempo para estar presente, amarla y verla crecer. En él, encontró a un gran hombre que la amó de todo corazón, la trató con el honor y el cuidado que ella merecía, y permaneció fielmente a su lado en cada etapa. Su relación estuvo llena de risas, una amistad genuina y un apoyo incondicional, siempre animándose mutuamente a crecer, mantenerse firmes y mantener su fe en el centro de sus vidas. Él nunca se apartó de su lado, y juntos construyeron un vínculo basado en el amor, el respeto y el compromiso. La vida que compartieron le trajo paz, alegría y una felicidad renovada que era evidente para todos los que los conocían.

Ella animaba a todos a su alrededor a buscar una relación con Dios, compartiendo con valentía su fe y su amor por Cristo. Declaraba fielmente Josué 24:15 sobre su familia—“Pero yo y mi casa serviremos al Señor”—una promesa que vivió cada día a través de sus palabras, sus acciones y su ejemplo.

La fortaleza, el desinterés y el amor inquebrantable de Martina dejaron una huella duradera en todos los que la conocieron. Será recordada por su fe, su generosidad, su resiliencia y por la manera en que hacía sentir a los demás seguros, valorados y profundamente amados.

Martina es sobrevivida por su esposo, Alberto Mancera; sus hijos, Alejandro Ramirez Jr., Henry Ramirez y Eloy Ramirez; su hija, Paulina Ramirez; su nieta, Kimberly Caracheo; y muchos otros familiares y seres queridos.
