Chedding, this is my third attempt to write you a final goodbye! My family is offering you our fervent prayers. Likewise, we are also praying for your extended families since they are in deep deep sorrow as we are due to your passing It has been a very long time since we lived in proximity, but beautiful memories are so clear on the radar that I truly feel they are currently happening. You are one of the main characters in that show my dearest Chedding! Knowing your kind & very humble personality, I have no qualms calling you Chedding in lieu of Ched your more modern name. Although you were closer to my sister due to age gap, I was a very alert unnoticed historian noting everything big and small events happening in the surroundings. Watching you two walk to college together, faces depicting excitement comparing notes ( I could just make an accurate educational guess what your favorite topics were about...-)need I say more! Joking aside.... I remember you as an individual, who was so beautiful outside & inside. But, what made your outward beauty more radiant came from your goodness inside! You were so chosen endowed with a childlike heart appreciating instead of criticizing. Your sincerest smiles coupled by your eyes depicting awe was something to behold. You were always ready to say something good - I will never forget a little instant visiting Chicago attending the wedding of Linda’s daughter. We were in church for the rehearsal & at the time singing, when you suddenly stopped singing looked back to me & with the surprised look of a young girl said, “Wow! You have a very beautiful voice!” That was one of the sincerest compliments I have received! I love you Chedding! We love you! It is so hard to say goodbye, but we wish you the greatest destination on your final journey. Thank you for what you have been to a lot of people! People blessed who had crossed your path! My mom said that Auntie Ched was Miss Pinamalayan. Her outer beauty was greatly admired by many... but her inner kindness felt the minute you met her. Napakabait talaga Niya ng si Chedeng my Lola Titay would say about her . We will always remember her with a warm heart!

Our deepest condolences to Auntie Ched’s family.. esp uncle Mar I am so glad we were able to talk to auntie ched last Saturday . She was one of the kindest people I have ever met in my life. As a little girl, I remember my mom and dad bringing us to visit her at her Pharmacy in Sampaloc Manila . She would always give me candy —choc full of nuts . I remember her kind voice and see her smile . I always looked forward to visiting her. I know it made my mom so happy My mom always had such fun stories about their growing up and their college days in Manila. The times they would hide in the confessional to scout out their blind dates... dances... library days... She and my mom were the ones who hung out together during their college days . I wish there was more tones to remember their fun times together . I hope she was listening last week during the zoom event . I am so grateful to God my mom and her were able to see each other even that one last time We will pray for her ... I know she is in heaven The day she passed... my mom has woken up crying . She clearly saw Auntie nene and Auntie Ched and snigger faceless man getting out of a white van ... as if going to a party It was about the times they reported she keft this world . I believe in dreams and how sometimes it’s a message from God... just like in the Bible . Let’s all pray a rosary for auntie Chedeng. My mom has offered several masses here . We’ve always enjoyed getting together with Mercedes and Mars whenever our two families (de la Cruz & Mendiola) met on many special occasions. Mercedes always had a wonderful smile when she would see you. Our deepest sympathy to all the de la Cruz family. The Mahnke family.(Mike, Estela, Micah and Melissa)
