Mildred Fischer was born on February 24, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Frederick and Johanna (nee Zumpf) Fischer. She died Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.

Mildred worked as a Claims Adjuster for Social Security in downtown Chicago for 41 years.

Her interests and hobbies included traveling around the world and celebrating holidays and birthdays with family. She also enjoyed playing board games like Scrabble and Monopoly and watching old movies.

Mildred is survived by her sister Eleanor Brzozowski; her nieces and nephews Donna (Ken) Chappatta, Michael (Rosella) Brzozowski, Frederick (Jan) Fischer III, Kimberly (Michael) Lawes; and her dedicated and compassionate caregiver Cristina Hancock.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother Frederick (Elaine) Fischer, Jr.

Visitation Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004 and on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 10:00am until time of Funeral Service at 11:00am at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 1234 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given a charity of your choice.
