Nora Caporusso was born September 23, 1936 in Dublin, Ireland to Henry and Elizabeth (nee Nolan) Nolan. She died January 16, 2023 at Luther Village in Arlington Heights.
Nora left Ireland at the young age of 16. She immigrated to the United States in 1953 with her experience in childcare as the oldest of 9 children. She worked as a Nanny in an effort to provide financial support for her large family back home. These selfless acts of care and generosity for family and others will forever be her legacy.
Her 67 years in the Chicagoland area began with another family request, this time from her cousin, for help with childcare. Thankfully, fate intervened and a short planned visit turned into a lifetime with the man of her dreams, Dan. The two would meet while working at Encyclopedia Britannica in the computer department. Nora would later take her skills as a Key Punch Operator and Payroll Accountant to Knowles Electronics in Franklin Park, where she worked for 30 years. Over the course of this employment, she exemplified teamwork and dedication, resulting in lifetime friendships.
She had a wide range of interests including travel, playing all games, cooking, and watching sports and entertainment, either professional or preferably her family’s activities. Nora especially loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. They were the pride and joy of her life. She was dearly loved by all.
