Patricia K. Jaszka

Of Arlington Heights

Patricia K. Jaszka was born on January 6, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois to Jesse and Rosalie (nee Pieprz) Diaz. She died Thursday, December 10, 2020, at her home.

Mrs. Jaszka worked as a Social Worker for Northwestern Settlement House for over 40 years. She ran the emergency food pantry and helped many, many people in the course of her career. It was her life’s work and she was very passionate about helping others.

She was a member of St. James Parish and served on the Park Ridge Board which supported Northwestern Settlement House for many years.

Her interests and hobbies included embroidery and puzzles and most of all spending time with her loving family.

Patricia is survived by her children Richard (Anita) Jaszka, Sue (Erik) Freitag, Thomas (Denise) Jaszka, Daniel Jaszka and John (Lidia) Jaszka; her grandchildren Anna Freitag, John Freitag, Heidi Freitag, Erika Jaszka, Elisabeth Jaszka, Emily Jaszka, Adam Jaszka, Stefanie Jaszka, and Frank Jaszka; as well as her siblings Robert Diaz, Jerome Diaz, Susan Diaz, Mary Ann Drabik (Richard), and Kathleen Mondala (Gene Sieczkowski). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 25 years John Jaszka as well as her parents and her brother Frank Diaz (Sophia)

Funeral Mass Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at 10:00 am at St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004 (PPE requirements and social distancing in effect). Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL.
