Paul E. Papas, 89, of Barrington formerly of Dolton, IL. was born on March 4, 1925 to the late Emmanuel and Marie (Long) Papatheodosiou and passed away peacefully on July 16, 2014. Paul was the beloved husband of the late Louise I. (nee Blair); loving father of Gary E. (Peggy), Pamela A. Zank and John G. (Kuniko). Dear grandfather of 4. Paul was a wrestling coach at Mt. Carmel High School, Chicago. He was a football coach at Mendel High School, Chicago. A combat veteran of WWII, he served as a paratrooper with the 101st airborne division in the European theater. Visitation Sunday 3:00 – 7:00 pm at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Hwy., Arlington Heights. Funeral service and burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery September 15, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated.
