Paul F. Wasikowski, 66, passed away on January 11, 2024 after a hard-fought, inspiring battle with ALS. Paul was born in Toledo, Ohio to Daniel and Esther Wasikowski on October 6, 1957. He attended Regina Coeli grade school and Central Catholic High School in Toledo. Paul was in the marching band where he played the clarinet and saxophone. He graduated from the University of Toledo, Indiana University, and DePaul University. He had three business degrees and was a Certified Public Accountant. He proudly worked for Arthur Andersen, Leo Burnett, and last served as Vice President of Taxation for Arthur J. Gallagher & Company.
He immensely enjoyed his time at the Inverness Golf Club where he participated in his favorite sport playing with his many friends on the links. Paul would especially enjoy his dinners with his friends, laughing and making jokes, and then even more friends would see Paul and want to share time with him. Paul was well beloved at Inverness by the members and staff alike and he found great solace to be among such wonderful people. Paul enjoyed visiting a great vineyard from time to time, but more importantly, the company of his family and beloved friends.
He mentored many business professionals in his career, who often came to visit him in his illness to tell him of their successes that he helped them achieve. Even as his own health deteriorated, he put others' needs ahead of his own. He listened well and offered succinct practical advice that was always appropriate to the occasion to so many who asked for his counsel. His quiet sense of humor helped others to feel at ease in his presence. Although small in stature, Paul was big in heart to so many. His memory will be cherished by all those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by father, Daniel Wasikowski.
Paul is survived by mother, Esther Wasikowski; children, Nick (Angela) Hoppesch, Julie Hommowun, grandson, Ethan; brother, John (Jean) Wasikowski and niece, Rachael (Keaton) Bogle and several beloved cousins.
