

Peter P. Tse, 88, of Buffalo Grove, IL, passed away peacefully at his home on January 22, 2026, surrounded by his wife and family. He was born on October 29, 1937, in Hong Kong, China, to Sheung Kam and Hen Lee Der.
Peter earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and began his career after moving to the United States in the early 1970s. Alongside his beloved wife, he built a successful career in the restaurant industry, owning a well-known Chinese restaurant in Palatine, IL. He was also a mentor who trained many chefs in the Chicagoland area in culinary arts and business management.
Throughout his early life, Peter enjoyed road trips and traveling. Some of his favorite destinations included Vancouver and Toronto, Canada, as well as cross-country trips in his red Buick to visit friends from New York to California.
Peter is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy Tse. He was a devoted father to Alan (Beth) Tse and Katherine (Tim) Veenendaal, and a thoughtful grandfather to Cora, Sophia, Talan, Trinity, and Ethan. He is also survived by many other cherished relatives. Peter especially enjoyed playing soccer with his grandchildren, cheering them on at their sporting events, and traveling out of state to visit them.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM. Interment will take place at a later date.
