Philip A. Krueger, 77, was born in Chicago to Felix and Bertha (nee Koziol) Krueger. He died Wednesday, October 27, 2021, in Arlington Heights.
Phil worked as a repair and coin phone technician for AT&T for 39 years. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Arlington Heights. He was a Past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Holy Rosary Council #4483 and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Assembly #2410. For many years he ran a monthly rosary and organized other events for the KC’s. From 1961-1965, he was a member of the national champion Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. He also spent 8 years in the Illinois National Guard and Air Force Reserve. Phil belonged to the Antique Telephone Collectors Association and enjoyed collecting old telephones and equipment. He also enjoyed setting up an elaborate train set every Christmas under the tree. He was devoted to his wife and children and was loved by all.
Phil is survived by his spouse of 52 years, Adele (nee Kozel); children, Kimberly Krueger, Scott Krueger, Kerry Ann (Jay) Piazza, and Andrew Krueger; siblings, Paul F. (Carol) Krueger and Geralyn (Jose) Caravantes; and several nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation Wednesday, November 3, 2021, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Prayers 9:15 am, Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the funeral home proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004 for a 10:00 am funeral Mass. Interment will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
