Raphael Don Zilch

Raphael Don Zilch, 84, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 in Arlington Heights, IL. He was born on July 23, 1939 in Ridgway, IL to John and Louise (O’Leary) Zilch. Don married the love of his life, Jann Rankins, in Arlington Heights in 2001.

Don is survived by his wife; children Kevin (Chris), Kenny (Amy), Natalie, Kent (Erin), Brad (Ashley), Kirk (Davina), and Scott; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Don was a resident of Arlington Heights for 60 years and he worked as a union journeyman plumber for over 50 years. He loved camping, traveling, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends. Don was a good neighbor and friend to all. He was always willing to give a helping hand to those in need.

Visitation will be held from 3pm-8pm on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Lauterburg-Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 East Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Lauterburg-Oehler Funeral Home. Graveside committal will follow at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Don’s name to JourneyCare Hospice, Alzheimer’s Association, or Save-A-Pet.
